Cambridge Neighbourhood Organizations' Statement Against Racism and Violence

The Cambridge Neighbourhoods continue to stand together against hate, racism and terror in all forms. As community leaders, we believe strongly that hate has no home in our neighbourhoods. Our organizations are committed to ensuring our programs, our centres and our neighbourhoods are places where everyone belongs through measures of inclusion,

Cambridge Neighbourhood Organizations' Stance on Anti-Hate and Anti-Racsim

With our community partners and residents, we are standing together to state clearly that we denounce all threats and acts of hate. As community leaders, it is our responsibility to acknowledge that there is hate in our city, our province, and across the country, but it has no place in our community. We remind our community of our commitment to creating an inclusive neighbourhood where all residents feel welcome and safe.

Our Statement - The Discovery of the Mass Grave in Kamloops, BC.

As a member of the Cambridge Neighbourhood Organizations and a community center in the City of Cambridge, we acknowledge that we work on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Haudenosaunee people of Six Nations, which includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. This territory is the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishnaabeg, and Haudenosaunee Peoples. We acknowledge the historic and ongoing traumas of colonization on Inuit, Metis, and First Nations Peoples. We are committed to the continual work of learning, accountability, and active allyship to Inuit, Metis, and First Nations Peoples. As an organization, we stand in collective grief with Indigenous communities.
